Closing the loop: Beyond pilots, how to integrate circular design and development across internal teams

09:20 - 10:15
Designing for circularity has the potential to drive over half of the impact reductions needed to cut the fashion industry’s carbon and water footprints by 50% by 2030, according to WRAP's latest scenario modelling. But what exactly does it take to make circular design a core practice? How can brands align their design teams’ resources and priorities with circularity goals?

In this session, we’ll hear directly from the design leaders about the key barriers and future to actively pursuing and implementing circular targets pathways. We’ll explore:

  • Up-skilling strategies: Equip design teams with circular principles through targeted training, clear KPIs, and effective incentive structures
  • Designing for dual goals: How can we balance durability and recyclability to ensure products are long-lasting and compatible with end-of-life recovery?
  • Addressing Misalignment: Strategies for overcoming competing challenges like cost, aesthetics, and deadlines while keeping circularity central to product innovation
