Reality check: Are commitments to circularity doomed?

09:00 - 09:20
Circularity is talked about a lot. But we’re a lot better at talking about circularity than doing it. The Circular Economy Foundation’s 2024 Report reveals that although the term’s usage has tripled over the past five years, global circularity in materials has decreased by 21% in the same period. Leading companies have launched pilot schemes, demonstrated the potential of circular business models, and sparked consumer interest. So how can we close the gap between ambition and reality?

In this session, our panellists will debate the key barriers to achieving our circular targets and outline what’s needed to move beyond ‘circular-ish’ to real systems change.
