Modern slavery and business: Where are we in terms of international legislation and business risk?

Combating modern slavery has become more of a worldwide priority, with an accompanying rise in global anti-slavery legislation and associated corporate risk. For instance, companies are now under increased pressure to ensure that North Korean citizens are not being employed directly or indirectly in product supply chains through the “Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act” (CAATSA). To comply, companies must verify the nationalities of these workers.
